Dazzling Christmas: A Night to Remember

    24 December

It was definitely a Night to Remember...Praise God! The wonder of God's love and joy at our dinner celebration was so special. The fun and laughter, dancing, singing and new friendships made were unforgettable.  Even more spectacular were the many friends who came up for prayer and to commit their lives to Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour. What a Dazzling Christmas it turned out to be.

    We Love Myanmar

    15 - 21 November

How do we begin to tell you about the wonderful time we had in Yangon just being with the beautiful people and our dear friends. We went to bless...and we got blessed back in return. All our workshops went really well (like the Beauty and Presentation Skills sessions) and our services were awesome. We were so pampered by our gracious hosts and despite all our hard work and sweat pouring out (literally), we think we still put on weight. Grateful, deep thanks and love to our many friends in Myanmar.

Prior to our trip, a bunch of our kids sold lemonade and cookies over two weeks to raise $560 to buy school supplies for the children in Myanmar. And...the young adults got together to sort out more than 150kg of clothes donated by our members for our "Dressing Myanmar" project. Awesome team work!

Memories? Many. Going back there again? For sure!

    Victory Weekend

    19 - 20 October

So many hands and hearts were raised - and they received the healing touch of God.

Often, in our journey through life, we get wounded along the way - and yet, many of us live with the scars of rejection, wrong attitudes, bitterness, distrust, fear... All this changes when we come to Jesus. We PRAISE God that those who came to the Victory Meetings over the weekend found hope, love and restoration. We serve a MIGHTY and LOVING God.

    Water Baptism - Church Picnic

    26 August

We have so much to thank God for - nine people chose to be water-baptized. We were so inspired by their faith and desire to please God.

The weather was superb and as usual, there was such a sweet breeze throughout our picnic and blessing time.  It was a wonderful time. Whenever we get together for these special gatherings, something beautiful happens.  I think its the fellowship, unity and new faces that we see each time. GOD is GOOD!

    8th Church Anniversary: Dinner-Service

    14 July 2007 Saturday

It has been 7 wonderful years that God has brought us through. Whether the times were smooth or tough, God never let go of us and we are so grateful to Him for his love and grace towards us. Our 8th Anniversary Celebration was simply fabulous. Once again, we packed the whole sanctuary - this time with about 350 people. We were max-ed out. We had a glorious time of fellowship, seeing people making a commitment to Jesus and many receiving a special word.

We had old friends and overseas guests, Pastors John & Julie Steele and Pastors Song & Barbara Tjoa, with us. It was a reunion that truly bubbled with such excitement. Also, just seeing every member in church serving with big smiles and big hearts - this really made God smile as well, I'm sure. Praise God for His love and goodness.

    Return from Hillsong Conference

    2 - 6 July 2007

A team of 17 went to Sydney and back. The times spent together were precious as the oneness of the group was evident. All of us were excited about the same things: the fantastic spiritual food, yummy physical food, fellowship, train rides, queuing up, winter cold, meeting old friends... It was like a big family gathering. And we all just love our Pastors, Simon and Ping, who papa'd and mama'd us throughout in so many ways.

The Conference itself was 'awesome' (very Aussie to say this) - sobering and inspirational truths to gear us up to the next level. God spoke so clearly. God is Good!

Darling Daddy - Fathers' Day Celebration

    17 June 2007

    Dear Dads,

You know you are so appreciated by all of us kids. Without you, we won't know the Father love of God. You are such role models and we know it can be a challenge sometimes to be the head of the household. But we know that God will anoint you in this fatherhood role which He has called you to. God bless you! We love you!!

Church Camp 07 - Port Dickson, Malaysia

    2 - 5 June 2007

What an Awesome move of God! God is wonderful, gracious and glorious! He moved in all our hearts to change and bless us beyond our expectations. Words can't describe the power and wonder when God showed up and showered His 'rain' on us. We even forwent our 'traditional' Wacky Nite because we just wanted more of Him.  Our meetings ended way past our lunch times for the day and past midnight every night. Whoa!  And we wanted more.  Now, its time to share our changed lives with others and give God all the Glory. AWESOME! "Expentancy Will Bring Reality" - lets make this camp theme a daily reality.  Stay holy, obedient and humble.

Of course, we also had time for family fun - pool fun, ranch fun, makan fun, surf and sand fun. Below is just a sampling of the happy faces.  More to come - look out for our camp pix at our Photo Gallery soon...

Guest Speaker: Ps Tom Bachtle - Tom Bachtle Ministries

    27 May 2007

We had the wonderful privilege of having Ps Tom, Hillsong Church, come to refresh and challenge us with what Faith means and the leadership call that God has for each of us. We really learnt so much. Now what matters is that we DO what we hear - that's faith in action!

Ps Tom and his wife, Angela, have a passion for practical Christianity and they have been faithful in bringing the Gospel of Jesus Christ to remote parts in Southeast Asia, through planting Churches and drilling Water Wells.

God bless you, Ps Tom, and your family. We hope to see you in Singapore again.

    Water Baptism - Church Picnic

    20 May 2007

The beach was bustling with activity and we made our way to a shady spot next to a field which very nicely allowed us to have our picnic, games and soccer match. But before all this, we had another exciting 'mission' to see to: to witness our bros and sis get water-baptised. It was wonderful to see so many young people making a decision for this important part of their Christian walk. And we all turned up to cheer them on.

    Mom: God's Love in Action

    13 May 2007

    Dear Moms,

You are such a precious gift from God. You love, nurture and listen...and take care of so many things that go unnoticed. But God sees and He delights in you.  He is your Wisdom when you feel clueless, your Strength when you feel weak, your Hope when you feel at a loss, and your Peace when you are anxious.  Most of all, know that He loves you and your family so much. His love and grace are there for you. God bless you.

    Baby Dedication

    13 May 2007

Dear babies Natalie and Kai Jun,

We are so glad that your Daddy and Mummy have made the decision to dedicate you into God's hands, and are committed to bring you up in a way that will lead you to the grace and knowledge of who Jesus Christ is. The LORD bless you and keep you, and make His face to shine upon you and grant you peace.

And God bless your parents (Daddy Minto & Mummy Pingping, and Daddy Edvin & Mummy Sylvie) with joy and wisdom as they bring you up.

Pastors Carl and Doreen Jukes (New Life Churches, NZ)

    6 May 2007

We had stories about a rudder, a ram, 3 'rebels' and a very hot furnace... and it all pointed us to see that when we just step out in faith and 'GO!', God will move in amazing ways. From a refreshing perspective of faith, we learnt that to grow, we need to GO.

Thank you Pastors Carl and Doreen for your ministry to us and for challenging us to continue to step out and live as people of faith. God bless you, your family and your ministry. See you back here in Singapore soon.

    Pastors Carl and Doreen Jukes,

    and their daughter, Hannah.

Thank God It's Friday... and Sunday

    Apr 2007

God is really doing something new in our church. We are so blessed by His touch that we've got to shout it out and give glory to God. God promised that signs, miracles and wonders will follow those who believe and it's happening here and now at our meetings. Revival and healing among our young people - that's glorious! We are just so grateful and happy that God is with us. We want to stay faithful and 'glued' to Him. We want to stay united in love and fellowship as a family. We want God's glory...always.

Resurrection Sunday: Light of the World

    8 Apr 2007

From a powerful Good Friday service where people did not want the meeting to end... to Resurrection Sunday where we worshipped our Glorious Redeemer - we had such great joy celebrating our risen Christ together.  We were blessed by the Mighty Kids who shared the Colours-Gospel message, the Impact dancers and the Ignite choir. Most of all, we rejoice with those who responded to the message. We worship an awesome God.

    Vocal Workshop with Daniel Singh

    1 Apr 2007

No joke...but we learnt lots at our first SLS workshop with Daniel who 'enlightened' us to the simple and uncomplicated mechanics of singing. With his humour and clear teaching, he had some participants come up to show them how to sing naturally and effortlessly with the correct technique. The consensus? More, please! Happy singing...

The Good Old Days Church Social

    25 Mar 2007

Our church premises transformed into an olden day carnival with games and food fare.  The only things missing were the 'kachang puteh' man and ice chendol.  But it did not matter as we all had a jolly good time. There was something for everyone: hop scotch, hula hoop, 'chatek', ping pong, table soccer (not so old-fashioned), chinese chess and carrom. Our wonderful hospitality team cooked up a storm of 'yong tau foo', kueh kueh and even sour lemon juice, made from an old family recipe. Well done and 'thank you' organisers. A testament of the good fun was that no one wanted to go home. Whew!

    Guest Speaker: Ps June Chuah

    18 Mar 2007

Ps June melted our hearts! Her passion for God and powerful sharing touched the core of our hearts deeply. In her gentle yet straight-edged message, we were challenged about our own walk of obedience, sacrifice, commitment and faith... It was such a special time to reflect on how much we truly trust God to be our Provider when we are tested on our journey of obedience.

Thank you, Ps June, for your openess and love. We are so inspired by your family's ministry in Montevideo, Uraguay, and how you see and love others with compassion. God bless you, your family and church.

Mighty KIDz Biking @East Coast Park

    15 Mar 2007

We parents had a really nice time with our children at the Might Kidz Club hoilday outing at the bicycle tracks along ECPark. The young ones (from the Discoverer and Explorer group) were either zooming around on their bikes and roller blades or snacking on the goodies.  They sure had a good workout and went off exploring on their own within safe limits. They did so well looking each other and helping the younger ones who fell off their bikes. For their wonderful behavior, they were treated to MacDonald's - where the fun continued from the lunch table to the playground. Whew! Lots of energy required for this bunch. God bless our little ones.

    Chinese New Year Supreme Celebration

    19 Feb 2007

We had a super time!! It was amazing how such a big group of us managed to squeeze into the house for our CNY gathering. Everyone was in a festive mood. There was constant snacking, table soccer, board games, Chinese chess, quiz games, lounging around, kids games...fantastic fellowship time with BIG smiles all around. Huge thanks to our wonderful hosts who fed us so well and made it one of 2007's memorable big-time hits.

    CNY 1st Day Combined Service

    18 Feb 2007

What a reunion!! It was with glad anticipation that we had our combined service early on Sunday morning with our bros and sis from New Life Christian Church. We shared greetings, hugged, gave updates, worshipped together and fellowshipped over new year goodies at the end of service. It was wonderful to see familiar faces and make new friends. What a great church family we have! We treasure everyone dearly. God bless everyone.

    Blast From the Past

A snap shot of our past - just for nostalgia's sake.

    7 and a half years ago (1999)-

14 of the Pioneers + their young kids sent out from New LIfe Christian Church to plant New Life Community Church. Guess who's who!

2 years on...and we have 3 new faces to the pioneer-leadership group. Can you spot them?

Look how we've grown during our 'Lavender Street' days circa 2004-05.

(Keep a lookout for more snap shots soon.)

Blessed 2007 to our News@life Readers

It's another new year with so many wonderful things to expect and hope for. We enjoyed having you journey with us last year and we will continue to fill you on events and news happening in our church family life.

We also introduce NL-VOICES. We provide a platform for young people to express their love and faith in Christ and the church. Have fun reading News@life 2007.
